Barcelona news: Andres Iniesta reveals reason behind shock defeat to Levante

BARCELONA were disorganised and let the tension get to them as their unbeaten season was ended by Levante.
That’s the view of departing Barcelona
star Andres Iniesta who saw his side beaten 5-4 in the penultimate game of the campaign.

That’s the Catalan giant’s first loss of the season as Emmanuel Boateng netted a hat-trick for the hosts.

Philippe Coutinho also grabbed three For arcelona but Ernesto Valverde’s men couldn’t battle back after being 5-1 down in the 55th minute.

And Iniesta, who is leaving the Nou Camp at the end of the season, believes Levante capitalised on Barcelona’s disorganisation.

"We were excited by the prospect of finishing the season unbeaten," Iniesta said.
"It's not the most important thing this season. It just wasn't to be.

“It's difficult to understand just how the team failed so spectacularly against Levante, especially with the season so close to an end, although the veteran believes tension got to the players.

“Above all, it was the tension and lack of organisation. This was especially clear at the beginning of the second half.

"They've been very effective in the counter attacks and have caught us out."
While the defeat puts a minor blemish on Barcelona’s record, it shouldn’t take away from a phenomenal season.

They have waltzed to the La Liga title being 12 points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid with one game remaining.

Barcelona also lifted the Copa del Rey though were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals by Roma.
